Budapest is one of those places we visit quite often. When moving around it, we use public transport, the metro works there perfectly or we wander the streets of Budapest slowly. There are a few places we particularly like:. - old M1 metro line with absolutely brilliant vibe. We usually stay overnight at Kiraly utca and we are close to the M1 so we take advantage of it. We are regular visitors to Hősök tere , where the Vajdahunyad Castle is located. The Városliget City Forest has many attractions, such as the zoo , Vidampark (amusement park) and the largest and oldest thermal pool complex in Budapest, Széchenyi Fürdő , and a circus. In winter, a large ice rink is organized.

Every two years, when we organize a rally in Niedzica, we try to visit Sokolskie Chaty in Gorlice. It is a lovely spot with two houses for rent. The area is full of interesting places such as the ruins of the Rytro castle, the Castle in Szymbark, the Ethnographic Park in Nowy Sącz, and Stary Sącz. www.sokolskiechaty.pl.

In spring, places that are crowded in summer are often empty. This is the case in Przeczyce. It is true that there are already a lot of lovers of relaxation in the bosom of nature and there are already trailers, but you can still find a lot of free space here, much more than, for example, on Pogoria IV. We usually enter a designated area from the side of Tuliszów. In high season, entry fees are charged there, they are not too high. Our second place for short trips is the roller in Góra Siewierska, and the third is Rogoźnik. You can fly a paraglider on the roller or just watch how it's done. You can also do off-road, because the conditions are great there and so are the views. Rogoznik is a water reservoir favored by the local population. This time we drove behind the old mill, to the end of the road, and then only gravel. There you can see the ruins of the old mill buildings, and even further, the ruins of the bridge that was destroyed during World War II. Off-road enthusiasts will also find something for themselves. It is worth taking a walk around the area. On the occasion of the VWe Wdzydzach rally, which we went to in 2014, we went to Pępowo, where the largest private Volkswagen museum in Poland is located. The owner of the museum showed us around his collection of over 40 vintage cars. Because when traveling, it's not just the destination that counts. Sometimes it can be close, sometimes it can be quite far. We will tell you what happened with us in 2015 and we hope to encourage you to travel. Or maybe you will come with us on a trip. The nearest one is already at the end of April - we are going to the Czechs for a rally, and then we will explore the area, Czech caves are planned. There will be a nice bunch of us, 10 buses so far. But back to the journey: MARCH 2015 in March we came to the Czechs for a rally to Podmitrov. As usual, the weather was not spoiling, but the atmosphere, as usual, was 5+, so in 2016 we already entered the rally organized by Jirka into our calendar.

OUR 2015

As the purpose of our holiday trip we chose Lake Garda, which we have already visited before and we remembered how nice it is. On the way, we decided to make a stop for a few days in Austria, which we usually avoided. But now, traveling with a two-year-old, we've set our minds for a longer and more comfortable journey. On the way to Italy, we had two stops, the first in the Czech Republic at the campsite http://www.kemp-merkur.cz/ Pasohlávky. There are many attractions there, such as an amusement park or a wakepark, and right next to an aquapark. We chose Lake Attersee for our second stop . Austrians love camping, so in high season there are problems with finding places to stay. We found the campsite https://www.camping-seensucht.at with a swimming pool, a lake, a playground, a restaurant and a fairytale-like location. We stayed for a few days and gathered in Italy. In 2015, August was outrageously hot, the temperature at night did not drop below 30 degrees. Our first stop by the Garda was camping Baldo http://www.campingbaldo.com/ , which is our favorite. There are few places in this intimate campsite, but each one with a lake view. The beach is separated only by a fence and a pedestrian and bicycle path. The conditions at the campsite are adequate for the price, it is clean and tidy, and you can eat and drink in the pub. And a complete lack of commercialism. The towns nearby are amazing, tailored to hiking and biking tours. After we said goodbye to Baldo, we headed towards Lazise. It is a beautiful town with a harbor, and the campsites around provide everything except the climate, unfortunately. We missed the unpretentiousness of a small campsite, but our daughter enjoyed the attractions of a large campsite - swimming pool, activities for children, parties for toddlers, etc. Unfortunately, we missed Sirmione due to the event which closed the entire area. We stayed in Toscolano Maderno, where we stay for two nights. The choice of campgrounds is good and the surroundings are pleasant, although the beach is full of algae and some dirt. We continue to the north of Garda. The fewer and fewer campsites on the west coast and the total lack of places make us say goodbye to Garda and look for accommodation on Lake Lago di Ledro. There are several campsites there, the most beautiful one is Camping al Sole, but due to the heat on the Garda, many tourists decided to take a breather at this small lake, where the temperature is 10 degrees lower and therefore there were no vacancies. Lago do Ledro is a fantastic base for hiking, biking, canoeing and other activities. The campsite we stayed at was Camping Azzurro.

Glory to the slow cars There is such an assumption among travelers, if you love and think about living together, take it on the road and she will show you the truth, said Herman Garcia Woydatt as we sat that April night on the side of the Chicago to Seattle state road. I have been to the States a few times, but if I had to choose just one moment that stuck in my memory, it would be this darkly bent night in fact. A few years later, when I was a little older, the words of old Woydett began to echo loud enough in my head that I had to go on a journey. I had been with my love for some time and although we saw a piece of the world together, I could not name any of these little escapades a real JOURNEY. I'm obsessed with making a loop around something. It was no different this time. I convinced Viktoria that we absolutely had to START LOOP. The choice fell on the Balkans due to its wildness and proximity to our land. For months I have been tracing routes, collecting information and preparing our mobile travel. Unfortunately, this last point consumed much more money than I had assumed, which forced me to abandon the idea of conquering - as Churchill used to say - the soft underbelly of Europe. I spun the globe in front of Victoria's nose and pointed out recently a very fashionable Romania. But fear not, this is not another article about her. So much has been said recently about this beautiful place that on the mountain pass we passed Toyota on Polish numbers, and the driver casually waved his hand at us. No fireworks, no hugs, no dinner together. I definitely preferred the times when, while traveling through Romania, with my father, we only passed the date 1310, and the Pole was an extraordinary rarity. And although we were just there, what I'm talking about can happen at any latitude. Love naturally requires a trial. Mine weighs over two tons and is not quite comfortable in dressage. It is her, or rather him, I devote these words to, because we went south with Viki Defender aka S uperve D efik . I've been working with him all summer. Many things have changed, starting with the engine overhaul, floor protection and roof sealing; by soundproofing the whole and cutting out new carpets to lining the floor with wood, building a bed and a wall unit. Time passed quickly, and when the haymaking began, with music in the speakers and poetry in our hearts, we headed south. I was convinced that this journey could only end in two ways - either we hate this car and exchange it for Discovery II or we love it and it will always warm our garage space. Let's be honest, we were to spend the next time in a tight, aluminum can, in which it is hot or cold alternately, and to which, for unknown reasons, someone attached a rattling engine and two pairs of wheels, and these wheels were additionally wrapped with a thick layer of rubber known in the environment under code name MT. You do not need to explain an expert on the road, and I highly recommend road bike enthusiasts. Let me ignore acceleration and cruising speed. When, after a day of travel, we stopped behind the Hungarian border, tired, we fell asleep quickly and even the nearby 1.8-liter fan club spot could not prevent us from doing so. Complications, however, started on the second day, when, beyond the Maramore mountain range, our heater broke down, and my companion fell ill with an unknown car disease, manifested by shortness of breath and above-average feeling of heat. The heater worked continuously from that moment on, effectively increasing the already high temperature in the cabin, which only made Viki feel worse. After crossing the mountain line, I ordered a break and turned to the mountain road where I found a stream, and behind it a fabulously green and beautiful meadow. I pulled out the swooning Victoria and sat it down in a chair to the accompaniment of the splashing of the stream and the rustling of the grass. The place was truly amazing, so we decided to spend a bit more time there. When we rested in the C-class tourist seats and looked around the area, I realized that if it weren't for Defik, I would have passed this wonderful place without suspecting that it might exist at all. A friend was waiting for us in Cluj-Napoca. He received us very hospitably, giving us the top of his house where, after eight hours of noise and getting out of not particularly comfortable and broken seats, we could rest and take a bath. The evening in Cluj was teeming with life, and we went from pub to pub, where we could not help but eat this or that, because, as Tomi said, everything was wonderful. It was only here that we changed the currency, because at the border we found only a strange, little man with an eye of tens of thousands of lei in the trunk of a Mercedes from the early 1980s. When we came back home, very sleepy and tired, we dreamed only about stretching comfortably in bed. To our surprise, our host organized a small evening with wine, and at two in the morning we were surprised by a fish whose size was more like a horse's head than by weight known from art stores. The next day we left the city lazily and on dirt roads in clouds of dust we traveled from one place to another towards the Black Sea. One time, while we were just having breakfast on the roof in the mountain scenery, I noticed BMW X5 pulling off the main road. As we were a bit higher, and the driveway was littered with uneven ruts, it took a while for it to park right next to us. A middle-aged couple got out of it and in very bad and poor English were asking excitedly about the car. They drove in there just to look at the old and scratched Defender, risking tearing off all those fancy plastics with which their car was adorned. I went down to them so they could look inside. I don't know how much they understood from my story but they were clearly pleased. When they got into the car, they said something that sounded more or less like this: -we have to change this car to match yours - although it could as well be-do you want to change the car with ours? - because they waited a while for my answer. I just smiled at them and then added: -There is no other way for me. They got into the car and drove away, catching the bumper on the ground. Viki was still ill, and I was tired of sitting behind the wheel all the time. One time, she decided to help me a bit and it was then that it is not known how and where a seven-centimeter thick, sharply cut pile stuck about twenty centimeters into the side of the tire, completely ripping it apart. There were many funny moments, such as a sheep siege on one of the mountain roads or our surprise when, wanting to spend a quiet evening on the beach, we found ourselves in the very center of a never-ending party. There I understood the ambiguous smile that appeared on Romanians' faces as soon as I spoke the two magic words - Vama Veche. There were also strange situations, such as a horse suddenly appearing around the bend on a completely unlit road, which was not particularly concerned about braking with a screech of tires; or just as scary as looking for a ferry in a village where the community looked more like residents of one of the larger necropolises than living people. In the middle of the way our starter broke, and although it was annoying to keep firing the car out of pride, we discovered a great desire to help Romanians thanks to it. It was enough to start stuffing the car, and after a while there were already a lot of people of all ages willing to help. Only later did I invent a wonderful method of starting the car with a hammer - it was enough to synchronize the turning of the key with a simultaneous hitting the metal box. During ten days we traveled nearly four thousand kilometers avoiding highways and main roads. We crossed villages and towns forgotten by the world. We slept on a bed made by me in a hotel under a million stars and climbed steep 2000s. We talked for hours and was silent for hours. Our mainstay, the point to which we returned and from which we left, the center of our lives was this absolutely not perfect, angular car. I could probably tell you many more stories, but why would I do it? Despite the fact that Viki was feeling worse and worse and we shortened our trip, we experienced many beautiful moments that will stay with us. The adventure awaits beyond the couch, and the world is ready to show you a lot, just start your engines and open your eyes, ears, nostrils and hearts wide. I wish you a slow and broken car. This overturns the perspective one hundred and eighty degrees.

Part one - click: Busik Po Bezdrożach - Balkans 2015 part I. Our forest path was mostly blocked by machines transporting wood from the forest after felling, so the idea of pushing the bus onto the asphalt turned out to be not quite as simple as we thought at first. The devised plan was to push the bus, and at the same time position it so that we could push it efficiently and land on the asphalt, and then use the falling terrain to turn around and roll down... As there was no power steering and the AT/R tires required the use of significant strength to get out of the way, I sat behind the wheel, and Daniel and Łukasz tried to push me out. The first push was effective, we drove about a meter, then we fell into a rut and got stuck again, the wet clay made it impossible to push properly. We dug up the mogul, as the bus was initially pointed in the right direction, so I switched places with Dominika and we tried to push the three of us, but it didn't help. In the meantime, while the boys continued to have fun digging up the mogul, I took care of our safety... I set up a warning triangle on the roadside and equipped the rest with reflective vests. Asia's task was to drive around the triangle so that oncoming drivers would slow down a bit, especially since we were hard to see from behind the bushes and the Romanian drivers were not on their toes. We managed to push the bus again and stop a meter before the ditch so as to have a chance to run through it. To make things easier, we lined the ditch with pieces of wood collected after cutting down and stones, and additionally put a board on top, which I threw into the car just before leaving home in case we got buried somewhere and needed to put something under it... it's a pity I had only one. It was time for the final push, but Tripciak refused to budge. In the meantime, a truck passed us at high speed, not caring about the triangle or Asia standing by the road, and an Italian driving behind the truck ran over a warning triangle placed on the road with his Alfa, making a fuss from behind the rolled-down window for running over our triangle. What a guy. Well, at least a nice elderly couple saw what was going on and stopped and tried to help us get out of trouble. This time, the four of us managed to get the bus moving, but when the wheel hit the board, it moved and we ended up in the ditch again. Extra. Now the bus was impossible to move without the help of a rope. However, I didn't really like the way we were supposed to woo Tripciak. Pulling it straight was out of the question, because there would certainly be a driver of the Romanian bomber who, despite attempts to temporarily stop the traffic, would try to cut the rope stretched between the cars. Seeing our struggles, a small truck stopped and a young team of boys jumped out of it. Our newly met grandpa who was helping us explained in Romanian what it was all about, so the guys didn't wait and started working right away. They attached a steel rope and pulled Tripciak across the ditch at a 90-degree angle at full speed, without asking them to do it slowly enough. It hurts my eyes, but we managed to get onto the asphalt, the fact that they pulled us in the wrong direction, despite explaining how to do it. A quick handshake and everyone went their separate ways, and we stayed on the road. As it was downhill, I rolled backwards into the corner for a bit, making a slight U-turn, and Daniel and Łukasz, waiting for the right moment, when no one was coming from either side, pushed me forward and I was facing the direction of travel. All that's left is to roll down a few hundred meters and wonder what's next?! First, Daniel dismantled the bowl to see the level of damage. The hole was huge, impossible to patch, and there were two cracks from the impact deep into the bowl. At first, there was an idea to find a piece of steel or sheet metal and stick it on silicone from the inside of the bowl, but such a solution would probably only work for a while, and we would lose our supply of oil, of which we only had 2.5 liters anyway.

Busik Po Bezdrożach - part III. We start our trip to the mountains with a walk around the stands to buy a map of Fogarasha. We manage to find one for 18RON, unfortunately, apart from the marked routes, there is nothing else, we were especially troubled by the lack of transition times, which were not even on the trail. Before leaving, I tried to find some information about the ascent of Moldoveanu. On one of the blogs I read that the trip back and forth takes about 3 days, google maps showed less than 4 hours, and rescuers at the shelter stated that it was about 10 hours of hiking, in one of the mountain magazines that Asia took with her they also wrote about a 3-day trip expedition, so we took this time. It's not a problem for us, we have tents and a rolling pin, you can go. However, we only had 2 days to reach the highest peak in Romania. The first ascent and the only signpost with the given time (1h) led to the pass above the shelter, the ascent was quite steep and rocky, sometimes very slippery, but as it was one of the attractions on the Transfogarska route, Sunday tourists climbing in white sneakers could not be missing there , bootki or flip-flops. I thought that such views are only with us. It took us about 30 minutes to get to the first hiking point. At the top, Dominika remembered that she had forgotten to take the tablets from the car without which she could not go any further. Well, it was late, not a long time, and a long way to go. I left my backpack and decided to go get it, because it will be faster this way. I treated myself to skyrunning training, I ran down the hill quite quickly, I took what I needed and I had to try again ... I turned the whole thing in 50 minutes. I felt my thighs and calves mercifully, what my heart loves, but Dominika's legs hated it: P Fortunately, as a reward at the top there was a chunk of bread with chocolate cream and a kiss. We threw the backpacks on our backs again and moved on. After a while all the tourists on Sunday disappeared and the trail became almost empty. We were surrounded by more and more beautiful views, but the trail was becoming more and more demanding, from steep, almost vertical descents to similar entrances, chains began to appear. There are no signposts, but only once in a while there is a trail marking that is faded from the sun or washed away by rain. Daniel wondered how Barry would manage in the mountains. However, Barry is not an ordinary mongrel, but rather a mountain goat mixed with a pooch. I have never seen (even in movies) that a dog could cope with the rocks so well, he would easily climb to Rysy, and Orla Perć would not be scary for him if he could enter the TPN; D.

The time of rest after an active holiday began with such a view ... The need for silence, "desert" - no people, no wifi, no www, no forum ... Where? The fate fell on the east of Poland . Overnight somewhere at a gas station to visit a beetle in Szczebrzeszyn in the morning. . . . . Another stop and very good hot chocolate with fruit on the market square in Zamość. . . . . . . . . . . From here to the north and on the way the Orthodox Holy Mount Grabarka. . . . . . On the way to Białowieża, there is a beautiful Orthodox church in the village of Kleszczele.

Behind the Bug

Another interesting place in Poland is Wierzchosławice - the Wincenty Witos Museum , which consists of a family house from 1814, where Wincenty Witos was born, and a farm built by him in 1905-1913. The farm consists of: a residential building, a stable, two barns and a cellar. . . In the old house, ethnographic exhibits showing life in the countryside in the 19th century have been collected, while the interior of the residential house in the new homestead has retained its original character from the period of Witos' life.
