We are over two hours' drive from Kingston to our next point, Peterborough, 237 km to be exact. On the way we will stop in Belleville, which notable buildings include the historic Gothic City Hall (Belleville City Hall) and the Glanmore National Historic Site, a museum restored in 2012. In case of a longer stay in the city, a visit to the Colonel Roscoe Vanderwater Conservation is a must area - is a recreational area where you can practice all kinds of sports all year round. And for the delight of the palate, be tempted to visit Prince Edward County. In recent years, the town has become a rising culinary star in the region. Some even say it's Ontario's culinary capital. After tasting the local dishes in one of the many cozy cafes or restaurants, you can agree. The city hosts food festivals, including "Harvestin 'supper" and "Six Barrels for Six Chefs." There are also many vineyards and organic farms, and talented chefs flock to the island from all over the region. In addition, music sounds everywhere - there are plenty of talented street artists.

Toward Peterborough

The first day of the Motor Show , intended for journalists and VIPs, was full of premieres. And although there were some mishaps, motoring fans had something to look at ... The CampRest.com team could not be absent from the most important automotive event in Poland. Although we were most interested in the 2nd Caravanning Salon (we write about it in separate articles), we could not miss the presentation of the latest passenger cars. This year, a separate hall belonged to the Volkswagen group, which, in addition to the Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi brands, also displayed Porsche, including the 911 GT3 Cup and Panamera GTS models painted in sports colors. However, cheaper cars were also popular, including the new Skoda Octavia, which is becoming more and more "Audi for the People". For those who prefer a full-fledged Audi, there were two new products. The first is the SQ5 TDI, a very strong version of the Q5 SUV. It has a 3-liter TDI engine with 313 hp. Thanks to the sports chassis, the body of the Audi SQ5 is 30 mm lower than that of the standard Q5. The second novelty is the Audi RS5 Carbiolet with a 450 HP V8 engine.

The MOTOR SHOW Automotive Fair will take place on April 4-7 in Poznań. The latest models of cars, motorcycles, campers and airplanes will be presented in seven pavilions. Among the biggest stars in the automotive pavilion, brands such as WIESMANN, ROLLS - ROYCE, FERRARI, JAGUAR and MERCEDES will shine in full splendor. We will also be there! Every day you will be able to find reports from the fair. The four-day MOTOR SHOW in Poznań this year will be created by over 130 exhibitors who will present themselves in seven pavilions and in the open area of the Poznań International Fair. There will be plenty of exclusive cars from the world leaders, including the ROLLS - ROYCE brand presenting the GHOST model in Poznań. The real star of the event will be the FERRARI F12 BARINETTA, honored by the editors of Top Gear magazine with the title of Supercar of the Year 2012. The car will be presented among other latest FERRARI models. The Italian brand's stand will be twice as large as in the previous edition of the fair. A real treat for automotive fans will be the opportunity to see, for the first time in Poland, absolutely unique WIESMANN cars.

Motorshow 2013 - direction Poznań!

Wandering from the capital of Canada towards Lake Ontario, the smallest of the five Great Lakes of North America, we will encounter a small town called Smiths Falls along the way. Situated in a picturesque setting by the Rideau Canal and attracting tourists with a park of over 90 hectares, Smiths Falls is a delightful city with many attractions. You can go fishing, play tennis, sail and go hiking for hours. It is a modern town with the atmosphere of an old town, visited every year by thousands of tourists who want to see the famous Rideau Canal, which will be discussed later. For now, we must be satisfied with the information that it is the main attraction of the town.

A trip to Kingston

This British toddler is said to be targeting British obsessions, and these include tea, caravanning and… queues. This is why the manufacturer, Environmental Transport Association, named this trailer - QTvan from the words - queuing, tea, caravan. Although we see a young man in the advertising photos, the producer also addresses him to the elderly. By connecting such a trailer to a scooter, they can slowly move not too long distances, and then calmly wait for the start of the coveted promotion in the store or for the march of the royal couple.

Just press one button to gain an additional 5 square meters of space. Is that a lot? It turns out that it is. The interior of Inos, after sliding the seating area apart, is really spacious. The sliding part has both a large double bed and a sofa. After sliding this part off, the caravan will present a neat shape from the outside, but the corridor will disappear from the inside. This means that you need to move the room apart to be able to move around on the caravan. However, such a solution serves a good layout of the living space. It is worth noting that Inos has a really spacious bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet and separate ventilation. The bathroom floor was lined with non-slip material.

. After a good rest, it's time to move on to the rest of the journey. This time we are heading to the capital of Canada, the city of Ottawa. It is about 200 km from Montreal, and there are many interesting and worth seeing places along the way. Vankleek Hill, a town that organizes several nice festivals each year, is definitely a must. Step-dancing and Squaredancing Competition takes place here in July, Vankleek Hill Fair in August, and Victorian Christmas Home Tour in November. It is worth adding that the last festival is associated with the city's main attraction - magnificent Victorian -style houses . Tourists are also attracted by the beautiful murals that can be seen on the walls of historic buildings in the center.

Toward Ottawa

In Poland, the prices of Knaus Sky-i start from 65,600 euro. Interestingly, the price on the German website of the manufacturer is lower and amounts to EUR 63,290 (perhaps the reason is the higher VAT tax in Poland). However, it is still about 10,000 more than for a Fiat Ducato with an "attached" camping container. So what do we get in return?. Sky-i is more angular, so it should also be easier to arrange inside. The large windshield was set at a lower angle than in the Fiat Ducato. There are four versions of the motorhome with two lengths to choose from. The shorter model measures 696 cm x 234 cm and the longer model measures 744 cm x 234 cm. Up to six sleeping places can be installed in each version.

After saturating all senses with contact with the unspoiled nature in Réserve faunique des Laurentides, rested and happy, we can return to civilization. And Montreal itself is waiting for us - to get from Quebec to Montreal, we will have to cover 254 km. Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the largest seaport in the eastern part of the country. It is situated on the island of the same name (Il de Montreal) and several smaller islets east of the confluence of the Ottawa and Saint Lawrence rivers.

The best solution is probably the mini-garages provided in the largest motorhomes. Not only a few bicycles can fit there, but also e.g. a scooter or a motorcycle. However, most motorhomes do not have this facility. So you have to deal differently. Two types of luggage racks are most commonly used. The first type - intended for motorhomes, is mounted on the rear wall of the vehicle. The second type are racks mounted on the trailer drawbar. In a motorhome, a rack such as the Omni-Bike Lift should work very well. It is mounted on the rear wall of the trailer in the form of a ladder to which two rails are attached. Bicycles are mounted on these rails. The distance between the wall of the motorhome and the first rail is 40 cm. 30 cm further there is the second rail.

After resting in beautiful Saint John , we can get ready to move on to the rest of the route - there are huge expanses of Canada ahead of us, waiting to be explored. Before leaving the city, however, it is worth paying some attention to its beautiful architecture and nature. Walking along the Bay of Fundy will calm everyone down, as will watching the hundreds of species of birds that live here and the waves crashing on the shores. Walking routes of the Irving Nature Park, the gorge of the Saint John River carved by the water or the Stonehammer Geopark recognized by UNESCO as a geological heritage are really worth seeing.
