Types of V-belts
There are many types of V-belts, such as belts with chamfered sides, classic and cogged belts, and banded belts. Each type of this element is adapted to the specifics of the device, its load during operation and rotational speed. Below, we briefly characterize each of the popular types of this important component of belt transmissions. What is a V-belt transmission? It is a type of mechanical transmission, which consists of two or more wheels belted with an elastic band (e.g. a V-belt). Belt transmissions are commonly installed in machines where they are responsible for transmitting power to receiving devices. They can be found in both simple and complex structures, and their role is certainly crucial to the operation of the entire machine.
