Tiffin is a brand of American motorhome buses. The Zephyr model is at the top of its offer. The 2015 version is now ready. What can we expect?. None of the Tiffin buses can be described as a "budget" model. Each of the vehicles is large and luxurious. But what is luxurious can also be graded. And at the very top of the Tiffin offer is Zephyr. From the outside, the Zephyr looks like many other vehicles of this type. It is 13 meters long , 3.66 meters high, and 2.56 meters wide. There are also retractable walls - two on each side - also typical for such buses. The vehicle is powered by an 11.9-liter Cummins 500 HP engine .

The Chausson motorhome can be built on a Fiat or Ford chassis. The French manufacturer offers two versions of equipment - Flash (standard) and Welcome (with additional options). It is worth taking a closer look at the second proposal, which seems to be an ideal solution for those traveling with a lot of luggage. Large storage options, low profile, rich accessories are just some of the advantages of this model. The Welcome model looks very attractive visually. The gray-blue graphics on a white background and the color-coded cabin are eye-catching. The side walls are made of GRP sandwich panels with foam insulation, which provides adequate insulation. The roof is made of polyester with a thickness of 0.54 cm - a material resistant to e.g. to hail. The new fairings and thick cornices are ideas that Chausson introduced in 2014 to make the body structure even more durable. The residential part is set as low as possible, which made it possible to resign from additional entrance stairs. There are even more thoughtful solutions. Diesel engine with a capacity of 2.3 l and 150 horsepower gives a lot of driving force. Welcome is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox , which allows for driving comfort in various conditions. ABS , ASR , Traction Plus , reversing sensor, precise steering and airbags for the driver and passenger increase safety while traveling.

Caretta 1500 Off Road may not be a novelty on the caravan market, as it went on sale in October last year, but it is undoubtedly a caravan that deserves our attention. This special type of trailer is due to the Turkish manufacturer of teardrop trailers. The so-called The teardrop caravan is certainly not the largest and most comfortable, but it definitely impresses with its ease of use when traveling. First of all, it can be attached to any type of off-road car, because it is light (580 kg). Thanks to its small dimensions (4.2 m long x 2.14 m wide), it does not pose any major problems when steering, which is extremely important for fans of light off road. In addition, this type of carriage, also known as turtle (turtlle), in combination with a very elegant design has an in-built aerodynamic spoiler, which increases the excellent towing performance as well as the entire handling of the trailer.

Yes - for years, tourist versions of Volkswagen Transporter, Opel Vivaro and similar have been available. Unfortunately - astronomical prices often exceeding PLN 150,000 and dimensions - disqualify them from the functions of everyday cars. An interesting solution, which is a combination of a typical passenger car and a budget camper for two people, is offered by Volkswagen. The Caddy model , produced in Poznań , has been used by many users for several years as a typical family car and delivery van. Among the many versions available, Tramper deserves our attention.

Active tourism has been changing its face for many years. Customers make more and more demands, expect comfort and functionality - at a good price, of course. Among them, Sylvan comes out. The manufacturer from the United States offers a very universal design valued at $ 8,000, which can perform many different tasks. Characteristic for this model are, among others a place to sleep, a platform for transporting several bicycles and two motorcycles at the same time. So far, we have had to buy at least two trailers: a camping one and a cargo one, preferably designed for the transport of two-wheelers. It was associated with a considerable investment, reaching tens of thousands of zlotys.

The manufacturer of caravans - Adria is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year. On this occasion, a special Golden Edition series will be released, and we are reviewing one of the new models for you - the Altea 552DT Tamar 2015 trailer. It is an interesting proposition, but not without flaws. Those looking for traditional solutions may be disappointed. This time Adria chooses an individual style and a raw, modern look. The caravan is designed for 6 people, but the development of quite a large space (total dimensions: 7.59m / 2.30m / 2.58m ) may raise reservations. The living room is extremely spacious, up to 5 people can comfortably spend time in it while traveling - this was the main assumption of the manufacturer, who focused mainly on the maximum functionality of the living room. In turn, the bathroom, despite the foldable washbasin and the large mirror, which optically enlarges the room, seems too small. A surprise awaits us in the kitchen, instead of classic solutions, the Altea 552DT offers a hob with 3 burners and a grill + oven , but there is still not enough space to prepare meals, so it's best to use the table in the dining room. The lack of a sunroof and a small by standard front window limit the access of light, which, at least in part, may be compensated by the new lighting system ( LED , Ambient ).

Those who dream of a small, modern, light, and at the same time more practical caravan and so far thought that this task was impossible for producers - should check the Knaus project. At first glance, we can see that this time the Knaus company is not focusing on the aerodynamics that is so important in the Caravisio model. Light structure, appropriate equipment, comfortable space and ecological solutions - they are what count the most. Weight - under 650 kg , perhaps it does not arouse great admiration, we can easily find lighter models, but the Travelino is longer and wider ( length - 4 m , width inside - 2.04 m ) than many of them. So where does such a low weight come from? This is due to the construction materials - sandwich panels with a paper honeycomb core , as well as polystyrene foam (XPS) panels, which are light, durable and environmentally friendly. Not only the interior is made of renewable resources, but also the chassis and body of the vehicle.

I have written many times that luxury and splendor are very difficult to combine with good taste. In addition to vehicles equipped with the above-mentioned innovative amenities, Bavarians also offer classic motorhomes. Among the Knaus products, the Sky Traveler model deserves special attention, available in three configurations, measuring from 561 to 699 cm . Dedicated to a slightly more demanding clientele, the vehicle is created using the Fiat Ducato chassis. The offer includes a choice of three engine versions, generating 115-180 HP .

Companies from all over the world presented themselves during the caravanning show in Dusseldorf. One of the few Polish representatives was the Balcamp company, which deals primarily with the construction of motorhomes based on vans. During the largest caravanning fair in Europe, Balcamp showed two of its cars , prepared on the basis of a Mercedes Sprinter. These motorhomes were a showcase of the company and at the same time a proof that Polish production does not have to differ from that of Western Europe.
