However, when looking at the vehicle from the side, we have to start figuring out what it is all about. On the one hand, we find doors typical of caravans rather than vans. On the other hand, in the part behind the driver and passenger compartment, we will not see ordinary doors or sliding doors. Let us recall that the title of "Motorhome of the Year 2014" was won by Rapido 640 . The jury also awarded 8 additional prizes. The British jurors awarded the Bailey Approach Autograph 765 as "Family Motorhome of the Year". This is another of the appreciated cars, which is a semi-integrated motorhome. Although motorhomes of various price classes and ranges were assessed, the title of the best Camping Car of the Year 2014 was won by the relatively small, semi-integrated Rapido 640 model. Ordinary cars have their plebiscites - e.g. Car of The Year, and unusual cars, e.g. campers, theirs. Two British magazines - "Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly" (MMM) and "Which Motorhome?" have joined forces to jointly announce the winners of the Motorhome of the Year Awards 2014. Four vehicles were nominated in each of the nine categories, which were then assessed by the jurors. Here are the final results of the vote.

The Frankia I 840 motorhome in the Platinum Edition version was recognized by the British magazine "Motorhome Monthly Magazine" as the best luxury motorhome of 2014. What did it deserve such a name?. Frankia I 840, like other motorhomes of this brand, has many features that make it stand out from the mass of motorhomes. First of all, it has an integrated body, completely unlike the Fiat Ducato and Mercedes Sprinter , although these cars are the basis for a motorhome. In the case of the platinum edition, a Mercedes with a 190 HP engine combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission was used. But it was not the body or the engine that made it the Luxury Motorhome of The Year award. Probably the most important argument for the jurors was the fact that the Frankia Platinum Edition is a car that can do without the traditionally understood 230 V mains! Solar panels take care of electricity on board almost entirely!.

Tabbert celebrates his 60th birthday this year. This is a good excuse to launch a new model on the market. The name of the new trailer is PEAT and stands for "Alfred Tabbert's Private Edition". In this way, the brand decided to honor the memory of its founder. Since this trailer is named after the first vehicle designer of the Tabbert brand, we should not be surprised that the appearance of PEAT is more classic than that of other models. The fact that we are dealing with this particular brand is proven by details that are difficult to miss - for example, the characteristic rear lights with a coat of arms placed between them, which also serves as a logo. On the other side of the trailer there is a spacious storage compartment for two gas cylinders.

Campers and caravans are just a part of the offer for those for whom long trips are the meaning of life or its very important element. Not only the Caravanning Salon was full of attractions. We also visited other stands available as part of the Motor Show 2014 to find vehicles that can be useful during active recreation. Volkswagen unveiled the T5 California Beach model once again. Probably because this car always arouses great interest of visitors. The model shown this year not only had a fold-up fabric roof under which you can arrange an overnight stay, but also a four-bike carrier mounted on the tailgate. The model on display is equipped with a 2.0-liter BiTDI engine producing 180 hp, mated to a 7-speed gearbox.

It was created on the basis of the expedition and tourist experience of its builder. The mini camper trailer is distinguished by a unique combination of functional features, efficiency in moving off the asphalt and design. The most comfortable way, especially in difficult terrain, is to travel without unnecessary ballast. However, when we stay away from civilization, it is convenient to have at hand everything that is responsible for our well-being. When you wake up in the morning in the Fagaras Mountains, do you dream of coffee from an espresso machine served with milk foam in a ceramic mug? Or maybe in the evening, in the setting Provençal sun, we will feel like drinking pink wine in a glass? Why not? In the past, during an expedition, each long stop was preceded by emptying the contents of the trunk, pitching the tent, cooking on the grass and then sitting cross-legged around with metal cups in hands. The table and chairs usually did not fit and we had to forget about many everyday items. Minimalism works well for three-day escapades, but packing equipment into the trunk of an off-road vehicle for longer trips with the family is a difficult task.
