CarGO! and market development - industry in the eyes of an expert (part 1)

Looking at the premieres and improvements in the Chausson offer over the last two years, we can confidently say that the manufacturer is constantly confirming its affiliation to the top of the motorhome world. The new Chausson COMBO X550 , the new S series, changes in integrated and semi-integrated components - all this makes the "spirit of innovation" , as the name "Chausson" is translated by the brand's creators, eternally alive. We have written extensively about most segments in the model portfolio over the past few months. In Poland, the core of Chausson's sales, for obvious (fiscal) reasons, has been semi-integrated based on Ford Transit for a long time and they collect great user reviews. Many models (e.g. integrated, campervans) are offered by the manufacturer only on the basis of Fiat Ducato.

Eriba is a cult brand with a long tradition for 40 years belonging to the Hymer group. We specialize in the production of caravans that are impossible to miss in the crowd. The model range includes various variants of the famous Touring variant with distinctive rounded shapes and pop-up roofs, as well as the more "standard" tailored Feeling, Nova Light and Nova series. In recent years, our editorial office has had the opportunity to try out many motorhomes from various price segments, with different dimensions, bodies on different base cars and with different equipment in action. Whenever we test a vehicle, we take a closer look at safety, driving comfort and utility values. Our experience shows that one of the key elements is the selection of the suspension and its parameters. There are many modifications to serial solutions available on the market, which only seemingly may seem universal and the same.

Air suspension - a gadget or a necessity?

The Campeo range, as the successor to the City Car series, entered Bürstner's offer in 2020. Contrary to other Campeo cars based on Fiat Ducato, the 4x4 model features a Citroen Jumper measuring only 541 cm in length. Off-road bravery requires a short wheelbase, so this choice seems to be the most justified from a pragmatic point of view. The car is 265 cm high and 208 cm wide. The French company Dangel, specializing in dedicated modifications to Citroen cars, is responsible for the 4x4 drive.

The French brand Dreamer is a specialist in campervans. From the shortest ones based on small Fords to the largest ones based on Fiat Ducato, everyone will find something for themselves. More than a dozen possible layouts and a wide range of personalization will suit most tastes of potential customers. While analyzing the manufacturer's offer, we came across 2 large and practical vans for families . Today we will show you what Camper Five and Living Van hide. Both are 636 cm long, 205 cm wide and 288 cm high. The roof in both models is made of a well-insulated laminate, which translates into tightness, but also thermal and acoustic comfort.

The Spanish brand Benimar is increasingly flexing its muscles in almost every segment of the camper market. Modern design and excellent value for money are the main arguments for buyers. Recently, we have paid a lot of attention to the winter versions of Northautokapp - read here: BENIMAR Northautokapp - Spanish temperament in its winter version . Today we present to you two new integrated models, new for the upcoming season - the Amphitryon 983 and 961 models. In Greek mythology, Amphitryon is the grandson of the hero Perseus, but in common tradition this character has become a symbol of hospitality. Borrowed from the French "amphitryon", from the text of Molière's comedy "Amphitryon", it is used to describe a hospitable master of the house, a host who generously entertains guests. And indeed, after crossing the threshold of these two exclusive campers, we can feel like we are in the cozy home of a generous host.

The series of semi-integrated TRAMP motorhomes includes 3 layouts, the most compact and latest offering being the S585. Measuring 709 cm in length and 296 cm in height, the vehicle is normally delivered on the Mercedes Sprinter 315 CDI platform with a GVW of 3,500 kg (power 150 HP) and homologation for 2 people.

Itineo draws on the experience of the best stylists and engineers of the Rapido group to which it belongs. In the collection for 2022, a lot has changed in terms of external appearance. Fans of the brand considering buying a new motorhome also have a wider choice thanks to three new, more compact, integrated vehicles with the NOMAD designation. Changes in the field of external design confirm that designers are able to respond to trends efficiently. While until recently the external appearance could be considered rather subdued and conservative, in recent years the French have brought the body lines to the championship level.

The analysis of the development of the recreational vehicle market for a moment indicated a reduction in the offer of cars equipped with "sleeping over the cab". The main reasons seemed to be the height (air resistance, potential damage to the skin) and the fact that they were for a long time low-budget cars, often with slightly worse parameters, less insulated and therefore not necessarily suitable for all-year use, forgotten by many in the works development. Indeed, many manufacturers present in this segment have either limited or, at best, ceased the development of this type of motorhomes. However, as we know, the market hates a vacuum. The alcoves were and continue to be very popular among rental companies, but they are also a great solution for families - both small ones who are looking for short and manoeuvrable vehicles with a large living space, as well as those with many children and many generations who need to take on board and provide accommodation. at least 6 people.
