When we get to know Cascais better, we will easily discover what it has captivated by the Portuguese royal family. The resort is located right next to the Atlantic Ocean, near Lisbon - on one side it is tucked into the bay, and on the other side it is surrounded by the hills of the Sintra Mountains. Even at the end of the 19th century, Cascais was a typical fishing village, where life flowed lazily, focused on everyday fishing. Today it enjoys the reputation of an elegant holiday resort. Some people even describe it as snobbish, which can be explained by the large number of boutiques of famous designers located on the main promenade. And prices.

Nowadays Croatian beauty does not complain about the lack of interest of tourists, especially families with children. According to various sources, the sun's rays illuminate Rab for almost 2,500 hours a year, so you can be sure of a wonderful aura during your vacation. The island is located in Croatia, in the Kvarner Bay. It is well connected with the mainland thanks to frequent ferries and catamarans. Ferries depart from Stinica (the village in front of Jablanac) and go to Mišnjak . The second option is to take the ferry between Rab and Krk (Valbiska - Lopar). The journey to Mišnjak takes place every 1-2 hours and takes about a quarter of an hour, while the second ferry leaves twice a day, reaching the destination in 1.5 hours.

The capital of the province bearing the same name was famous, among other things, for the fact that the patron saint of lovers - Saint Valentine - comes from it.

Both those who want to recharge their batteries in nature and those who prefer to sit at a table over a glass of beer and spend time with friends will be satisfied with a trip to Jičín, Czech Republic. Kudowa-Zdrój is less than 75 km away. The days are getting longer, the weather is getting nicer, so we begin to timidly plan the first short trips - even for the weekend. There is no shortage of ideas, especially when we consider places located in beautiful surroundings, and at the same time providing entertainment for lovers of typically urban attractions. The Czech Jicin (Jičín) is a proposition worth considering when planning such a trip. It meets the criteria of a city with a wide range of cultural events and a center in a beautiful location. It is called the gate to the Bohemian Paradise.

Every year at the end of July, a unique procession takes place in Liguria. The divers taking part in it lay a wreath at the monument standing on the seabed. In it, they sanctify the patron saint of sailors and divers - Christ of the Abyss. The statues of Christ stand in several places around the world, being a symbol of the city that created them. They look at the area from the tops of the hills, and also ... from under the water surface. One of them rests on the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, between Camogli and Portofino, about 30 km east of Genoa. It is called Il Cristo degli Abissi (Christ of the Abyss). It is a 2.5-meter bronze sculpture by Guido Galletti, depicting the Savior with his arms raised.

The largest amusement park in Spain is located just off Salou, a resort loved by water sports enthusiasts and families with children. The resort full of attractions has for years attracted tourists to the Costa Dorada - not only the British, encouraged by the proximity of the airport. A dozen or so kilometers from Tarragona and several dozen from Barcelona is Salou, by many called the tourist capital of the Gold Coast. It does not seem exaggerated to call it the pearl of the Costa Dorada, especially when you look at the number of shops and shops, restaurants and hotels that thrive in the resort. When we add to this the pride of the town - the beautiful Playa de Llevant, approx. 1200 meters long and approx. 70 meters wide - multimedia fountains where crowds stand with open mouths and great conditions for sports (not only water sports), we will understand why Salou is so crowded.

If you are a fan of fish dishes, like good wine and ballet, you should visit the island of Vis. At the end of the season, a great ballet concert takes place there with the participation of the International Ballet School. Holidays on Vis are a guarantee of relaxation and beautiful memories. Vis is the ninth largest Croatian island. At the same time, it is the only inhabited island in Dalmatia, which is so far out to sea - it is approximately 45 km from the mainland. There are no lakes or rivers on it, and drinking water comes from springs around Komiža, one of the two largest towns on the island. The second is Vis, from which ferries run to the mainland.

The legendary phoenix rose from the ashes. One of the Canary Islands, Lanzarotte, has proven that you can go one step further and use the destructive element to your advantage. In the eighteenth century, its surface was torn by tremendous tremors, then it was burnt with millions of cubic meters of volcanic lava, which in a few years wiped out life on a large part of the island. Today, these areas are home to the unique Timanfaya National Park , also known as the Mountains of Fire (Montañas del Fuego). Every year it is visited by over 1.5 million people.

San Marino is considered the oldest republic in the world. It took its name from Saint Marinus, who founded a Christian community on the top of Monte Titano in 301. It is so tiny that it can be considered not so much a country, but an independent urban complex on the territory of a foreign country - in this case, Italy. The capital of the mini-state of San Marino has the same name. It is an enclave with an unusual number of monuments for such a territorially limited area. The city owes the term "open-air museum" to their richness. The most famous ones include the castle, three towers with the majestic La Cesta standing on the top of Monte Titano, the Basilica of San Marino and Palazzo del Governo - the government palace.

One of the country's most intriguing cities is located in the Alentejo region of southern Portugal. This is Évora, a small tourist center of great historical and cultural value. Évora is neither as famous nor as crowded as, for example, Lisbon, 120 km away, but it undoubtedly has something to be proud of. History lovers will surely appreciate that this city is home to the cathedral where Vasco da Gama sacrificed banners before his trip to India. Tourists visiting Évora can see them inside the temple.

Uppsala is partying loudly until dawn, and Juwenalia is talked about long after the most abused student has sober up. The city is also famous for its royal mounds and too large cathedral. Uppsala is the former capital and the fourth largest city in Sweden. It is located in the south-eastern part of the country, less than an hour's drive from Stockholm (via the E4 route). It is a well-known university center in Europe and, as befits one, it is teeming with life and endless fun. The fact that Uppsala attracts young people from different countries can be seen especially during the great student holiday - Sista April. This event is partly Juwenalia, partly a free interpretation of the so-called Walpurgisnacht , the night of evil spirits. Legends about the Sabbaths at the Brocken Summit on the night of April 30 to May 1, and the traditions of lighting great fires on the hills to drive away the witches, have become the occasion for events attended by thousands of people each year.

For example, in the Blue Springs reserve. Depending on the place we choose for the first weekend of May, we can bring home memories of an active holiday or peaceful exploration of nature with the whole family. If we decide on the latter, we can go to the Blue Springs reserve. It covers an area of almost 29 ha, and tourists visit it to see karst springs with an original blue shade, about 400 species of plants, 75 species of birds and numerous mammals (including the muskrat).
