For some, houses with a soul are only wooden houses. Their interiors are saturated with the scent of boards and resin, they can tell many stories, woven sometimes creaking in the ceiling and log walls. Those who would like to hear their stories, especially the "talkative" houses, will find houses in the open-air museum. Szymbark is located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the heart of the Kashubian Landscape Park. Glencoe Valley is a tourist attraction in the Highlands, for which Scotland has been famous for years. Over a decade ago, her landscapes served as the set of the next part of the saga about the little wizard - she became the star of the film "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". In Scottish Gaelic, Glencoe means "valley of tears." The name can be explained in part by the topography of the valley (its slopes are very steep and angular) and in part by its history. At the end of the 17th century, a bloody murder of the villagers by the army of the English monarch, William III, took place there. Thus, the king took revenge on the population for refusing to take the oath of allegiance after suppressing the Jacobite uprising. Like the Katyn massacre in Polish-Russian relations, the Glencoe massacre has cast a dark shadow on relations between Scotland and England for many years.

"Good thing you don't know all the secrets of this house, otherwise you would never want to sleep under this roof ..." These are the words Count Strathmore said to Andrew Ralston during the conversation about Glamis Castle. The gigantic structure is considered Scotland's most haunted castle. Glamis Castle is located in the UK County of Angus, in the town of Forfar. It is a place close to the family of the English Queen Elizabeth II. Her mother (Elżbieta Bowes-Lyon) spent her childhood there, and her younger sister (Princess Margaret) was also born here. The building was immortalized in the pages of Shakespeare's play - the king was killed in "Macbeth" in the Duncan Hall.

Can we speak of a monument when it was built from scratch, from ruins? When we talk about the monastery on Monte Cassino Hill, no one doubts that it is an object of great historical and cultural importance, despite the fact that it was reborn in the 20th century. During your vacation in the Eternal City, it is worth devoting one day to a trip to Monte Cassino, to the hill where a battle of great importance for Poles took place. After the bloody events of 1944, the cemetery where the soldiers of General Anders' group are buried, remained. For the rest of the world, Monte Cassino is home to Europe's most important Benedictine Abbey. It is also the place where "Ora et labora", or "Pray and work" - the rule of religious life, comes from.

On the coast of Northern Ireland you can see something that will stop the viewer in half a step, opening his mouth in surprise. The basalt columns placed tightly next to each other create a landscape straight from SF movies from the 1980s. Anyone who watched "The Golden Child" with Eddie Murphy will know what we're talking about. There is a very original rock formation in the Irish county of Antrim. It is called the Giant's Causeway, or the Way of the Giants. Situated among the scenery of cliffs, it has fascinated artists for centuries not only with the number of columns it consists of (over 35,000), but also with the shape they formed. They froze in this form about 50-60 million years ago, and their formation is explained by the blow cracks that arose during the period of lava solidification.

The Philippines is slowly ceasing to be a distant exoticism unattainable for mortals. More and more often you can hear about a friend or acquaintance of a friend who went there. Only a few years ago, Thailand was treated like this, which today is an attractive and at the same time more and more accessible destination. One of the Filipino islets where tourism reaches, but still hasn't turned into a commercial one, is Palawan.
