The charms of the Black Forest
The Black Forest, or "Black Forest", is a mountain range in southwestern Germany. The youngest National Park among our western neighbors has been separated from its part. It was created in 2014 to protect the local wildlife, mainly coniferous and deciduous forests as well as mountain meadows and peat bogs. The picturesque Black Forest is also famous for its numerous health resorts, such as Baden-Baden and Badenweiler. The Black Forest is a granite mountain range stretching over a length of 160 km. Its highest peaks are Hornisgrinde (1,164 m) and Feldberg (1,493 m) with a weather station built in 1937. The mountain range borders in the west with France, in the south - with Switzerland, in the east - with Jura Swabia and the enormous Lake Baden, in the north - with Kraichgau. The Black Forest is famous primarily for its numerous spas . Patients and tourists appreciate the healing climate of the region, its clean air and dense fir forests.
