The Atlantic Pyrenees, also known as the Western Pyrenees, is a beautiful department in the southwest of France. It is made up of the historic province of Béarn and the French part of the Basque Country, and its prefecture is the city of Pau. As a cross-border mountain range located on the border between Spain and France, the Atlantic Pyrenees are quite a tourist attraction - a strong point on the map of Europe for all lovers of raw nature and active recreation. For some, the range resembles the Alps a bit (due to limestone ridges and deep valleys), and among the many advantages of the region are the abundance of forests and the number of generally accessible shelters and huts. It is impossible to ignore the freedom of camping and lighting fires. A tourist who has decided to spend a vacation in the Atlantic Pyrenees will feel fully connected with nature. Both the French and Spanish parts of the range are geologically and biologically diverse. In the north, deciduous forests predominate, many of which have their original character - the last representatives of the Pyrenean bears can be found there. When our condition allows us to cover further stretches on the bike, we need to plan the route and verify whether our equipment can handle longer distances. While the route can only be limited by our imagination, the choice of a bicycle should be carefully considered. A two-wheeler will be an inseparable companion of our trips, and the comfort of the journey depends on its parameters. The choice of a bicycle very often depends on the budget that we can spend on its purchase. It would seem that it is difficult to compete for tourists, being the only province in the country without access to the sea. Meanwhile, Spanish Lleida, located in the western part of Catalonia, does not have to be ashamed that there is nothing to make up for. Because it does, and it does. The location of the Lleida province is a great asset for a tourist wishing to intensively explore the attractions of Spain . What can we say about its capital? Lleida (Lérida) is not as famous and popular as Zaragoza, let alone Barcelona, but it is growing very fast. Located on the banks of the River Segre, it is an important scientific and commercial center, and has good rail connections. After relaxing in Barcelona, tourists often pass through Lleida on their way deep into the Iberian Peninsula. The main attractions of the city are two cathedrals - the 13th-century Catedral de la Seu Vella, with a tall tower and courtyard with 17 huge arches, and the newer, baroque Catedral Nueva. It does not make such an impression as the older temple towering over Lleida, but it is also worth seeing. The old town hugs the hill with the Catedral de la Seu Vella visible from a distance and hugs the right bank of the river. Parallel to Segre runs the representative shopping street - Carrer Major, while on the other side of the river is the Cappont district, where the new university campus is located. While strolling through the streets of Lleida, it is worth taking a closer look at the ancient gate to the city, the Gardena Castle, built by the Templars, as well as the magistrate building, i.e. the Paerii Palace, built in Romanesque style. Approx. 27 km away is Belaguer , an interesting town with an Arab and Jewish quarter, the castle of the Counts of Urgel and Gothic temples. It's nice to get lost in the tangle of narrow medieval streets.

Doesn't such a trip sound attractive? It is not associated with moving one foot at a time from one room to another - on the contrary, the "Secrets of Malbork Castle" route arouses great interest among visitors. This is a completely different way to learn about history, as well as the opportunity to test your skills in crossbow and bow shooting, or your accuracy in throwing a spear and axe. There are more applicants than places, so it is not surprising that long queues form during the period in which it is organized (May 1 - September 30). You can go on the route every day except Monday, between 10:00 and 11:30. After leaving the interior of the castle, it is worth going to the nearby Żuławy Ceramic Village, where at one of the Artistic Crafts points you can see how easy it is to make something out of clay yourself. During the workshops, you can leave your child under the care of the instructor.
