In the west it covers the Central Massif, and in the east the Alps, between them is the Rhone Valley. The uniqueness of this region of France lies in its diversity – soaring mountains give way to vast valleys, and wild nature accompanies magnificent cities. In addition to visiting the sights of Lyon, Annecy and Clermont-Ferrand, you can go skiing, mountaineering, hiking and cycling here. The trekking route Tour de Mont Blanc, one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Europe, runs around the highest mountain in the region, and well-known and popular ski resorts operate, among others, in Chamonix and Val d'Isere.
