How to build a motorhome?

The Morelo brand has already got us used to spectacular solutions and remarkable design. Most of us associate the brand with luxurious giants on wheels. The Grand Empire 110 GSO , presented at the last trade fair in Düsseldorf, leaves most of the competing designs that we have seen in Europe in the shadow. Probably everyone who drives a camper or caravan has experienced a power deficit on board. On the other hand, we are now accustomed to using many electrically powered devices on a daily basis. Therefore, it is hard for us to imagine their absence during shorter or longer camper trips. To receive electricity in our mobile home with a voltage of 230V, i.e. the same as in a home socket, we must connect the camper to the electricity network, e.g. at a campsite. Another way is to equip the camper with a voltage converter . One of the tasks of the converter is to change the 12V voltage (which we obtain directly from the battery) to 230V, which allows us to power devices such as laptops, mixers, drones, cameras, hair dryers, waffle irons, toasters, coffee machines, various types of chargers, etc.

In the era of more and more stringent exhaust emission standards and more and more common hybrid and purely electric drives, caravanning enthusiasts will face more and more challenges. Family cars and even popular SUVs receive standard-imposed units with cylinder capacities not exceeding 1.5 liters, often with insufficient power to tow caravans. Connecting additional ballast to a strictly electric vehicle in the form of a traditional trailer will dramatically reduce their range and may require multiple charging, even on short distances. Today we will take a closer look at the vehicles on the market. We will also describe the most important differences between them. It is hard to imagine that over a dozen or so years any vehicle undergoes only minor "lifting" changes. And yet the Fiat Ducato is a perfect example of this. The king of the motorhome market (as I think we can talk about it) has, on average, seized over 70% of this cake in recent years. However, apart from changing the shape of the headlamps and subtle modifications to the layout of the dashboard , engine replacement required by the EURO6d standard and a new gearbox, not much has happened here. The entire range of propulsion engines are units with a capacity of 2.3 liters, additionally subject to high excise duty.
