Mighty mountain peaks reaching almost 3000 meters above sea level, vast valleys and towns and villages "squeezed" into them, where life has its own rhythm for hundreds of years ... yes, Abruzzo, although little known, is certainly a real jewel of Italy. A holiday in Abruzzo is a great adventure for a family who likes to spend time actively - because more than a third of the region is occupied by a national park, we can be sure that the encounters with wildlife will be amazing for sure. In addition, the stunning coastline, which is Abruzzo's 'hidden treasure', may be the best retreat away from the crowds that are besieging Bari's beaches right now ...

As a calmer and ... cheaper version of Tuscany. We can find here everything that the eastern coast of Italy is famous for: excellent cuisine, medieval towns in the picturesque valleys and truly Italian Dolce vita . So if we are looking for these three unique elements, a holiday in Marche will certainly provide them. Who will like this place the most? From my own experience, I can say one thing: a family vacation in Marche is a shot at 10! There are several reasons: the first is the unique location of the region - the long coastline means you can discover different beaches every day (clean and peaceful!), And the surrounding hills, where an active family can move around on two wheels, hide real treasures. If we want, we and our kids can discover the secrets of medieval knights in small towns such as charming Montemonaco . Surrounded by massive walls and interwoven with cobbled streets, it allows you to feel like you were in the old era of kings and princes. A bit further you will find the Sibillini National Park - a great place to discover the fishing line of an adventurer. The extensive network of trails leads tourists to crystal clear lakes, caves and mountain passes - places perfect for a family picnic!.

Italian Marche - a homeland of peace

Italia has many faces. It is blue like the sea, golden like beaches, green and lush like meadows and hills covered with a network of vineyards, aromatic like olive groves. It smells not only of pizza and spaghetti, but also almond, amaretti cookies, cream, panna cotta or coffee, tiramisu. Everyone will find a corner in it that will steal their heart. For those who fall in love romantically, Marche, a region in central Italy, may become the object of love. Marche is an agricultural area and its landscapes are made up of vineyards, olive groves, vast meadows, fields and pastures. It will be loved by everyone who associates  . Tourists who will stop there will be delighted, because it lies right by the sea, stretching along the beach strip with a row of white houses. Couples in love can greet the sunrise together. On the other hand, families with children can start their mornings with breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea, and during the day - relax on the sun loungers or watch the kids playing on the sand. For children, there are numerous places where they can have fun (including on swings or slides). There is also a restaurant and gym, a beach volleyball court and many other attractions. When we add to it the wonderful atmosphere and the unique microclimate of the Marche coast, there is probably no need to encourage anyone that it is worth coming on vacation here.

A small country, Hungary. Small but wonderful - every proud resident of this country will probably answer. And he will be right. This compact country in the heart of Europe, flat as a pancake, has a lot to offer tourists. For centuries, trade routes from the distant Orient and Europe crossed in today's Hungary, and, of course, armies met regularly - Ottoman, Imperial, Romanian... Today, their presence is visible at every step, and often emphasized by Hungarians. When Ania, my cousin, got married, she went on a wedding trip with her husband ... to Venice, of course, to spend a magical week full of romance there. She came back happy, radiant with happiness, but, as she herself admitted, tired as hell! Because it was July - the very peak of the tourist season, when traveling through the charming corners of the city, you could not drown in the canal, but in your own sweat. And the sweat of a million other tourists. When I asked why, in such terribly hot weather, they decided to spend their dream vacation in Italy in a city warm to the limit, instead of, for example, in alpine meadows, she opened her eyes wide with surprise that there was such a possibility. And it was, because in fact the region of Veneto, where the city of lovers is located, is also a region located at the Dolomites - the most beautiful range of the Alps.

Today, the region finally has its 5 minutes, and a trip to Abruzzo is on the list of every traveler who likes less beaten paths. Why? Perhaps because Abruzia is almost officially called "Europe's greenest region", and more than a third of its area is occupied by national parks. And although during our holidays in Abruzzo we will not find many Michelangelo sculptures or take a gondola ride among the canals, thanks to the ubiquitous nature here, we will certainly recharge our batteries for the entire season! I have never associated this region of Europe with festivals or holidays that would attract tourists. The more I was surprised when a few days later, with a ticket in hand, I was going as a tourist to Croatia to take part in a series of Christmas madness in one of its most magical regions - Istria. Few people know, but willing to dance and sing, Istrians celebrate many local holidays each year, which can delight every traveler interested in culture. Hello beautiful France! Yes, once again we are going to the land of wine, music and singing. It's summer, so in order to avoid the city noise, we skip the noisy and crowded Paris and jump over touristic Provence. Our goal this time is to discover the fascinating border of France and neighboring Spain - the Languedoc region - Roussillon, where French sophistication is mixed with Catalan temperament, and the songs of sad bards from the Seine with fiery flamenco. The road is not the easiest one, because you have to travel to this south-west corner of France for quite a long time, but it pays off, especially when the mighty Pyrenees loom on the horizon, and more and more vineyards begin to appear around us. Yes, it must not be forgotten that this region, famous for its warm and mild climate, has some of the largest vineyards in the world, and wine drinking is as common here as tea drinking here. We have achieved our goal - one of the most historically rooted regions in Europe welcomes us with wonderful, sunny weather - which, it turns out, prevails here for nine months of the year! There are actually only a few places on the route, a holiday in Languedoc - Roussillon should not be rushed. Here you have to stop for a moment, rest and forget about stress.
