How to do it to have a small car with a lot of space in it? The solution is a motorhome with sliding walls. Until recently, the patent was only available on the most powerful vehicles from America or Australia, now it is also being used in Europe. The swallow of innovation was Adriaze with its Compact Slide Out model. The short Adria based on the Fiat Ducato with a sliding rear wall had its premiere in 2015 (it was still a concept vehicle at the time), and in 2016 it won the European Innovation Award . Today the Adria Compact in the SCS (620 cm) and SLS (599 cm) versions is already on sale.

Have you heard about water-campers? Water campers allow you to travel by boat and a motorhome or caravan parked on board at the same time!. The Germans call them variously - "Hausboot", "WasserCamper" or from the English "WaterCamper". We had been agreeing on the Voyager XS test with Elcamp (the manufacturer of Globe-Traveller motorhomes) for several months, but finally we managed to hunt down a free date only in mid-November. And because this is a particularly busy period in our editorial office, the test had to be extremely short. Short but intense! In four days we covered about 1000 km. At the beginning of the year, we tested a very similar model of this Polish manufacturer, namely the Pathfinder XS (description here: Winter camper test: Globe-Traveller Pathfinder XS ). Therefore, I will not elaborate on the interior layout - it is almost identical. However, I will try to describe the differences that I consider quite important and I hope that they will help you when choosing a new mobile home.

The Forster I726 VB is one of those motorhomes that we were particularly interested in during the Caravan Salon 2017 in Düsseldorf. In the mass of similar camping vehicles, the integrated motorhome of the German brand is very positively distinguished by both the appearance and the unusual layout of the interior. The front with large headlights and a streamlined hood , devoid of the "grill" typical of Fiat Ducato, are the hallmarks of all integrated motorhomes by Forster, owned by another well-known manufacturer of touring vehicles - Eura Mobil . During the CARAVAN SALON in Dusseldorf, representatives of the Dethleffs brand presented the result of two years of work on the vehicle of the future. E.Home, as the concept is called, is at first glance a massive motorhome based on the Iveco Daily Electric vehicle. During the conference, project coordinators emphasized that they want to be pioneers and apply technologies that have not been used in this industry so far. A little over 31 square meters of a special solar mat (or rather foil) is characterized by a total efficiency of 3000 Watt and is to be a source of energy for heating, a stove and a refrigerator.

The Swift Basecamp caravan comes from Great Britain and there is no distributor in our country - so there is no chance that it will become popular in Poland. Nevertheless, it is worth taking a look at it, because it is currently one of the most interesting mass-produced trailers on the market. Basecamp brings together most of the current trends as if in a lens. According to them, the caravan should be small, light, full of light , equipped with modern, modular furniture, and it should also give the possibility to personalize its appearance.

Traditionally, when we went to the Caravan Salon fair in Düsseldorf, we took a Pilote camper for testing. This time we had the opportunity to test the largest and most luxurious vehicle among all the ones we have received for testing so far. This is a fully integrated Pilote camper, model G741, in the Sensation equipment option, built on the basis of a Fiat Ducato with an AL-KO chassis. The vehicle was registered for the first time in mid-2016, and at the time of the test it had approximately 32,000 miles on the odometer. km.

Do brands such as Roller Team or Caravans International have anything to fear?. The Spaniards decided to create motorhomes that in terms of price would be at a level similar to that of Italian popular class competitors, but in terms of quality, they would be a class higher. The customers of Camper Planet from Bielsko-Biała will soon be able to find out if this trick was successful, because it became the distributor of Ilusion Caravaning in Poland. Although shrouded in mystery, or maybe because of that, the Dethleffs Coco caravan was one of the biggest sensations of the 2017 Caravanning Show. And although it is still a prototype, it is to be mass-produced next year. Ultralight, multifunctional and beautiful - this, according to the manufacturer, is the Coco caravan. In fact, rounded edges can be enjoyed, and the curved front with a panoramic longitudinal window, above which there is another (roof) window, attracts attention. This caravan cannot be confused with any other, although… You can see some similarities (lots of glazing, longitudinal windshield, simple, light and modern styled interior) to the BaseCamp model of the British brand Swift . It's just that the weight of the British is at least 891 kg, while Dethleffs claims that his caravan will weigh ... 638 kg .

Already with his earlier models, Globe-Traveler has shown that he does not intend to be only a follower of what his Western competitors are doing, but that he wants to compete with them in terms of applied solutions. But only Rookie can be considered a real revolution. The company from Poland has done the impossible, or at least what the biggest brands on the motorhome market could not achieve. The Rookie model (presented in Dusseldorf under the working name Swift) is one of the few models on the European market, which, measuring only 500 cm in length, has a bathroom and three beds on board!.

The Live series (eagerly written by the manufacturer as L! VE) is one of the most important novelties of the Knaus brand for 2018. Under this name, there are semi-integrated motorhomes, with which the manufacturer wants to tempt young people and those who - regardless of age - are looking for their first motorhome. Will Live meet their awakened expectations?. Don't expect a revolution after the Live series. This vehicle will not overturn the caravanning market, but that is not its purpose either. Its purpose is: selling. The highest possible sale. Live is a motorhome from the semi-integrated vehicle range, and it is this market segment that has the greatest competition. The price pressure is enormous here.
