Already with his earlier models, Globe-Traveler has shown that he does not intend to be only a follower of what his Western competitors are doing, but that he wants to compete with them in terms of applied solutions. But only Rookie can be considered a real revolution. The company from Poland has done the impossible, or at least what the biggest brands on the motorhome market could not achieve. The Rookie model (presented in Dusseldorf under the working name Swift) is one of the few models on the European market, which, measuring only 500 cm in length, has a bathroom and three beds on board!.

The Live series (eagerly written by the manufacturer as L! VE) is one of the most important novelties of the Knaus brand for 2018. Under this name, there are semi-integrated motorhomes, with which the manufacturer wants to tempt young people and those who - regardless of age - are looking for their first motorhome. Will Live meet their awakened expectations?. Don't expect a revolution after the Live series. This vehicle will not overturn the caravanning market, but that is not its purpose either. Its purpose is: selling. The highest possible sale. Live is a motorhome from the semi-integrated vehicle range, and it is this market segment that has the greatest competition. The price pressure is enormous here.

Tourist versions of their vans are already offered by, among others, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen. Could Citroën be joining them? Perhaps... The premiere of the Spacetourer Rip Curl model can be considered a one-off marketing campaign, but we can also think of it as an initial study of the campervan market. Lewis Turner (48) and his daughter Ellie Turner (15) agreed to use their faces to brand Citroen's latest campaign related to the promotion of the Spacetourer Rip Curl model. So let's start with the family. Ellie had a clear knack for surfing from an early age. And since her father had a knack for traveling, he took his daughter all over the world to look for the best surfing spots with her. Traveling not only allowed them to see a lot of the world, but also helped the girl in her sports career. Ellie recently won first place in the UK Surfing Championships and is currently second in the European Junior Championships.

Citroën Spacetourer Rip Curl - a concept for active people

The momentum and the setting of this year's Caravan Salon seem to confirm the attitude of the industry - it is very good, the demand for recreational vehicles is constantly growing, and manufacturers in many cases are approaching or even exceeding their production capacity. The annual number of motorhomes produced last year exceeded 107,000 vehicles, which means a 30% increase in just 2 years (!). During many press presentations at leading manufacturers, not so much revolutionary changes and novelties were presented, but cosmetic improvements to existing solutions, at the same time highlighting the problems with the implementation of the flood of orders. Dethleffs alone, with a turnover of EUR 370 million, is at the end of its possibilities, and even smaller players are thinking about increasing production capacity - Carthago, which ended its financial year at the end of July and boasted a total of 4,900 vehicles, for example, is planning 6,000 for the next year, there will be no problems with selling them. Even manufacturers of real locks on wheels (Concorde, Morelo and Volkner) predict a similar increase in demand.

How much do you have to pay for a new motorhome? Everyone who starts to be interested in caravanning asks a similar question at some point. The differences in the prices of motorhomes of different brands are huge, but it is worth being aware that there is more to the higher price than "just" the brand and the manufacturer's reputation. I've been planning an article on this subject for a long time, but finally I was inspired to write it by a visit to the Caravan Salon 2017 in Düsseldorf . There, I could directly compare both the prices of the vehicles on display next to each other, as well as assess their "organoleptically" quality.

How much is a new motorhome?

Last year, the biggest novelty of the Knaus brand was the Travelino caravan. This year, during the fair in Dusseldorf, the almost completely new Deseo caravan will be shown. From 2018, it will use its older brother's design solutions. It is hard to deny that the current version of Deseo is innovative. The uniqueness of this caravan was expressed both in the modern design, exceptionally angular form and functionality. It was one of the few tourist vehicles on the market, prepared both for the transport of goods and for temporary accommodation . These last features are the basic distinguishing feature of Deseo - also in the 2018 version.

Based on your sentiments, you can create a pretty good business. Americans know this and very often use their passion to create something new, but aimed at people who want to feel the atmosphere of the old days. In the case of Relic trailers, the abandoned vision was combined with a fresh approach to the subject. The Relic trailer is a bit like a cross between a road cruiser and a boat or maybe a space capsule. The vehicle looks phenomenal and if it appeared, for example, in Hel, it would immediately become a sensation among tourists, and in the cucumber season it would probably be on the front pages of local newspapers. But even in the USA, where everything has already been seen, such a vehicle must arouse keen interest - especially since it is available in subdued colors.

Relic Trailers - a sentimental dream come true

Perhaps traveling with a caravan is not very comfortable, but once we reach our destination, we can enjoy more spaciousness than in most motorhomes. This will also be the case with the Sterckeman Alize Trend series trailers. Despite the German-sounding name, Sterckeman belongs to the French group Trigano . And Alize Trend is the top model of this brand. This year, the design of the trailer has been even more modernized. We will not go into technical details, but we are dealing here with GRP materials, and GRP reinforcement, and XPS foam insulation. It can therefore be assumed that the vehicle will serve us in very good condition for many years. In terms of design, you can mainly attach to the brakes, which do not have a self-adjusting system .

Sterckeman Alize Trend - a decent average guy

In the last week of July, thanks to the courtesy of Rafał Bieżuński - the exclusive distributor of Caretta trailers on the Polish market, I had the opportunity to test the Off Road off-road model. We traveled with two adults and a two-year-old child. We spent seven nights in the trailer at two different campsites and drove 400 km on different (Polish) roads, which allowed us to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of the trailer. Small tear drop trailers are particularly close to my heart. I have a similar trailer and have been traveling with it for two years. I believe that a small and, above all, light trailer, especially in combination with a small bus, is the perfect set. In the article below I will try to present my subjective opinion about this Caretta Off Road model, but also to present the advantages of traveling with such a small trailer, based on my own two-year experience. When we see an integrated motorhome, we think, "Oh! This vehicle is definitely big and spacious. " However, in the case of Hymera Exsis-i, we may feel a bit disappointed. The shortest model is only 599 cm long, which is the same as some camper vans!. Producers are outdoing each other in finding new niches on the market. And this is probably the most important reason why gems such as Hymer Exsis-i are available for sale. Dimensions like the Fiat Ducato, but the look of the liner. And since the neighbor does not notice the difference and even being an expert on motorhomes, it is easy to confuse Exsis-i with Hymerami of higher classes, why overpay;).

Hymer Exsis-i - a toddler for ambitious people

Itineo is a motorhome brand unknown in Poland, but associated with a recognizable French manufacturer, Rapido. Interestingly, from this year on, the Itineo brand focuses exclusively on integrated motorhomes at a relatively affordable price, which can be an important differentiator for it. Usually, the "integrated" means the premium class, which automatically raises prices ... To say that Itineo is a low-cost motorhome is obviously an exaggeration. The cheapest new motorhomes of this brand on the popular Mobile.de portal cost approx. 200 thousand. PLN . For comparison, however, the prices of integrated models with the Rapido mark usually oscillate around 250-300 thousand. zloty. Therefore, in terms of prices, Itineo ranks somewhere between semi-integrated models and typical "integrals".

Itineo - an integrated at a reasonable price

A motorhome based on the French Renault Master, produced in Great Britain, is soon to be sold in Germany. It sounds at least original! Let's check out what the Lunar Roadstar has to offer. The advantage of the first semi-integrated Lunar on the German market will certainly be its price, which may seem quite attractive compared to local competitors. The Roadstar model will be available at a price from 60 to 75 thousand. euro for versions with standard equipment, and it should be noted that it is very rich.
