On the occasion of the recent motor show in Frankfurt, Opel decided to make a tribute to customers who prefer active leisure. The Vivaro Surf Concept is to be the perfect car for those who have had problems with finding a place for a muddy bicycle or a surfboard. If the words "Concept" appear in the name of the car, it usually means that we will not see such a car on the streets. But in the case of the described Opel model, it should be different. The manufacturer announces that the Surf Concept will be available as a limited edition of Vivaro for some time. Perhaps Opel wants to probe the market in this way, and therefore check whether it is worth going towards tourist vehicles, as Volkswagen and Mercedes have already done.

The company based in Jandelsbrunn (Lower Bavaria) has never sold so many touring vehicles - especially motorhomes - at the Düsseldorf trade fair before. As you know, appetites grow with eating, so the flagship proposition in the premium class will now be the debuting KNAUS SUN i model. In addition to the positive sales results, the company reports the confirmation of contracts with the existing and new trade partners of the brand. The past Caravan Salon fair allows us to believe that next year will be exceptionally successful. Later this year, we plan to increase our turnover from EUR 297 million to around EUR 350 million. It is a huge merit of the contracts we signed with end customers in Düsseldorf - says Wolfgang Speck, president of the management board of Knaus Tabbert GmbH.

After the next edition of the Caravan Salon, more and more caravanning fans know that a Polish company - Elcamp from Krakow is playing an increasingly important role among European manufacturers of this type of vehicle. Despite the much smaller cubature, these vehicles offer their customers a full functional program. We find there a kitchen, toilet, shower, sleeping places for two or four people. The sizes of these cars are much more "driver-friendly", but the travel options are still unlimited.

For the widest circle of caravanning fans, the limit remains the vehicle weight within the limits of the driving license category B. In the category of vehicles with a GVM of 3.5 tons, the family of Hymer compact models is complemented by ultra-light novelties. Hymer boasted a few weeks ago selling 150,000 motorhomes. There would be nothing extraordinary about it, if not for the fact that this result applies only to models whose weight in running order (full fuel tank and also a clean water tank) is less than 3,000 kg. A load capacity of 500 kg is a fairly decent result in the 3.5-tonne GVM class, but you know - the appetites are much greater. And it is precisely with the much greater needs of customers in mind that very light motorhomes were advertised.

The last Caravan Salon 2015 fair was held at the Hymer stand under the slogan of strengthening cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz factory. So the one for whom a motorhome is to be synonymous with comfort and safety was not disappointed. The history of cooperation between the two companies is long, because the first Hymermobil made its debut in 1971. It was then based on the legendary Mercedes-Benz L 508 D chassis and was the first example of a luxury house on wheels with a length of almost 8 meters in the caravanning industry (in Europe). The luxury S-Class models have been based on the Sprinter since the mid-1990s. Over the years, there have been more and more varieties of motorhomes of different lengths, but for off-road fans a typical integrated with the Hymer logo did not guarantee the desired bravery in the field.

The latest models of caravans are the result of work on conceptual models that we had the opportunity to admire during previous editions of the Caravan Salon. The City-Car, a compact 599 cm long model, makes its debut in the Bürstner production program for the 2016 season.
