In the central part of Italy, there are the landscapes of Lazio, the heart of which is the capital of the country - Rome. During the journey through the territory of the region, we will see beaches, rocky coasts and mountain landscapes of the Apennines. Inland, there are lakes, forests and olive groves. The most important monuments of Lazio are in Rome - not only sacred buildings such as papal basilicas (including the basilica of St. John Lateran, St. Paul Outside the Walls), but also secular ones, including the Colosseum, Capitoline and Pantheon. In addition to the capital, there are many other places worth seeing in the region.

It is a "bridge" connecting the southern and northern parts of Italy, an area located in central Italy. Abruzzo is made up of four provinces: L'Aquila, Chieti, Pescara and Teramo. The region is famous for its beautiful coast and mountains, as well as interesting monuments and picturesque hiking trails. In antiquity, today's Abruzzo was inhabited by Italian tribes , but in 304 BC the region was taken over by the Romans . However, in the 7th century, the Lombards ruled there. In the 12th century, this area was assigned to the Kingdom of Sicily , and the Normans took over the power. In 1240, Emperor Frederick II founded the present-day capital of the region - L'Aquila . Over the next centuries, Abruzzo was still ruled by the Spaniards and the Bourbons . In 1861, the region became part of the united Kingdom of Italy.

We always have a small problem with a picnic - if we want to make the most of these five days for relaxation, not for riding, then we exclude long and strenuous trips. On the other hand, our immediate vicinity is already so touring that it is difficult to find anything surprising here. This time we decided to look a bit further and head towards Warsaw. We admit without hitting that we have so far avoided the capital during our camping trips. We associated it with crowds, traffic jams and gigantic prices for camping. We completely forgot about the fact that we have one of the most famous Polish primeval forests just outside Warsaw - the Kampinos Forest. Time to catch up!.

We had been planning the trip opening the camping season for a long time. This year we decided that our May weekend destination would be camping in Italy . We wanted to go to Garda again, and an important argument was, among others, close distance to Poland. Even though it snowed in Austria the day before our departure, it was already sunny on the other side of the Brenner Pass, and during our spring break we even managed to feel the breeze of summer. We usually go camping with a camper or trailer. This time, however, we received an invitation to a campsite where there are no pitches! There was an opportunity to test accommodation in a holiday home, which we decided to do for the first time in our lives. Did we like it?.
